Objective: Reduce Overall Operating Costs!

Energy consumption is a concern for every industry, both for economic and environmental reasons. LE's ENHANCED LUBRICANTS™ reduce friction and wear because LE uses 100% paraffinic base oils with greater lubricity, oxidation resistance and high performance and our exclusive and proprietary friction and wear-reducing additives - ALMASOL® and MONOLEC® - in blending LE lubricants.

Friction Robs Electrical Energy

Friction is a result of the metal-to-metal contact between two opposing surfaces moving relative to one another. Even between highly machined surfaces, under microscopic view, asperity contact occurs.
The greater the amount of contact, the greater the amount of friction. As a result, more energy is required to move the surfaces relative to one another. This frictional loss results in higher electrical power costs.
LE lubricants reduce friction. When friction is reduced, less electricity is required to drive a gearbox, compressor, pump, or any equipment.

Lower Friction = Lower Electricity Costs

Energy savings will vary according to each individual situation, so your local LE representative will work with you to identify where you can save energy and maintenance dollars by using LE lubricants.

LE Lubrication Surveys

Lubrication Surveys for your Plant

An LE plant survey is a complete physical inventory of all your equipment and lubrication points to ensure proper use of the correct LE lubricants, proper lube intervals and optimum lube inventory to meet your needs.

How does a lubrication survey work?

Your local LE representative conducts a complete survey of all equipment that requires lubrication:
  • By the area and/or location
  • By equipment name and number
  • By points of lubrication
  • Recommended LE products
  • Application methods
  • Drain or lube intervals
  • Special remarks
LE's Technical Department reviews the survey; the material is compiled; and a report is returned with the recommended lubricants for all of your equipment.

LEAP – LE's Used Oil Analysis Program

LE’s comprehensive system for sampling, analyzing and monitoring oil performance and equipment conditions, establishes your optimum oil change intervals and offers you the most economical use of LE lubricants. This program is an excellent preventive maintenance tool which can detect unusual wear or contamination before it damages your equipment.

Why is LEAP important?

By regularly determining the conditions of oil - whether in an engine, gearbox or circulating system - LEAP can help accomplish two critical objectives:
  • Establish the best oil change interval for maximum productivity and economy through the use of LE products with their longer service life.
  • Prevent unscheduled downtime of equipment by identifying abnormal wear, metal and contaminant concentrations before they cause major problems.

How does LEAP work?

LEAP analyzes oil samples to monitor mechanical, operational and environmental factors that can affect the life of the equipment and the lubricant. Laboratory personnel, LE’s Technical Department and the local LE representative review the reports and make appropriate recommendations for changes in products or maintenance schedules.

DUOLEC®

DUOLEC®

LE's Exclusive Dual Action Additive that Provides
Elasto-Hydro-Dynamic (EHD) Antiwear (AW) Film Strength Enhancement and Boundary Lubrication Extreme Pressure (EP) Surface Protection

How DUOLEC® Works

DUOLEC® is the newest LE proprietary additive incorporating revolutionary technology designed specifically for use in LE gear lubricants. It is a temperature activated, dual acting liquid additive that imparts special properties and synergies to the LE Products in which it is used. DUOLEC® increases lubricate film strength and protects metal surfaces outperforming at greater temperature and loads.
DUOLEC® incorporates revolutionary new technology which is thermally activated to provide a dual layer of antiwear and extreme pressure protection that forms a solid-like protective layer on the metal surface. This layer fills surface asperities, effectively smoothing the surface and minimizing the effects of any metal to metal contact thereby reducing friction and preventing welding and surface wear.

What Makes LE Unique

LE's Proprietary Additives: Unique Additive Technology

LE's own additive research and manufacturing company, The ALMASOL® Corporation, and our complete research and development department continually develop more effective and efficient high technology additives and product lines that are proprietary to LE. All this technology is incorporated into LE lubricants so they are the finest available.
ALMASOL® solid wear-reducing additive is able to withstand extremely heavy loads, chemical attack and temperatures up to 1,900°F (1,038°C). It is attracted to metal surfaces, forming a microscopic layer but not building on itself or affecting clearances. Almasol minimizes metal-to-metal contact and the resulting friction, heat and wear.
DUOLEC® dual-acting additive imparts synergistic properties to lubricants, providing both wear-reducing and extreme pressure protection. The result of revolutionary technology designed specifically for use in LE gear lubricants, Duolec increases oil film strength and is temperature-activated to provide a protective layer that smooths metal surfaces and minimizes the effects of any contact, thereby reducing friction and preventing surface wear.
MONOLEC® wear-reducing additive creates a single molecular lubricating film on metal surfaces, vastly increasing oil film strength without affecting clearances. An invaluable component in LE's engine oils, industrial oils and many of its other lubricants, Monolec allows opposing surfaces to slide by one another, greatly reducing friction, heat and wear.
QUINPLEX® impact-resistant additive contributes to outstanding water resistance, tackiness and enhanced mechanical stability, and helps to form a barrier against corrosion.
